Vellum Sunflowers

We are still trying to cling on to the last hints of summer here at Chameleon HQ, so when we saw Ilina’s beautiful vellum sunflower card it brightened our  rather grey day!

Chameleon Deluxe pen set, vellum, Papertrey ink Botanical Blocks stamp set, Neenah white card stock 110lb, Versamark ink, Hero Arts White embossing powder, Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

1. Stamp image with versamark on vellum.
2. Emboss image using white embossing powder.
3. Color your image using your Chameleon pens. Color from the back side, not on top of the embossed image.

For the flower use the Summer Sun pen, infuse the pen with toning medium for about 3-5 seconds (brush nib) and color each petal ( infusing each time). Repeat again, to get darker color.
For the leaves and stem use the Olive Green pen and infuse it for about 3 seconds for the smaller leaf and stem and 5-7 seconds for the larger leaf. After that color the leaves and stem again
For the center of the flower use the Bark pen and infuse it with toning medium for about 7-8 seconds and color. Repeat.
For the background use the Sky Blue pen, and for each section infuse it for about 3-5 seconds (depending on the side of the area you are coloring)

4. Cut out the image and adhere it on piece of white card stock.

5. Cut the main panel and stamp the sentiment. Adhere the image using dimensionals.
6. Adhere the whole panel onto White card base.

Ilina has provided some great tips for this project, such as coloring on the reverse side of the embossed image and going over an area again to intensify the color.  We would love to hear any tips you have discovered whilst using Chameleon pens, so let us know in your comments below!
