Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop

We are so excited to be taking part again in another Altenew Blog hop, you should of arrived here from Laurel Beard or  you can start the hop from the beginning by clicking the link below.  Altenew stamps really are the perfect match to Chameleon Pens, Pencils and Color Tops!

Start the hop at Altenew

Cathy has been crafting for years and fell in love with stamping at the ripe old age of 8 when she was at a county show and saw stamping and embossing – but back then there were no heat guns, she had to melt her embossing powder by holding it over the toaster! She has created this floral hello card with a video to show you just how easy it is to recreate!

By Cathy A

Cathy has used Altenew’s Blooming Bouquet Stamp and die sets to create this simple design. Watch how easy it is to get the blended effects on the leaves and flowers using Chameleon Color Tone Pens & Pencils and how to get the ombre effect from Fuchsia to Deep Violet on the ‘hello’ sentiment.

Alternatively you can download the Hello Card worksheet here for later.

Cathy has also created this beautiful no line floral thank you bonus card, to show how versatile the Chameleon Color Tone Pens and Colour Tops are.

Altenew’s Blooming Bouquet was stamped using Memento New Sprout ink to give a faint outline and then  Colored.

  • using  Chameleon Color Tone Pens, Green Apple (GR1), Dark Sage (GR2) and Evergreen (GR4) combined with the Spring Meadow (YG3) Color Top for the leaves
  • using Mellow Yellow (YO2) Pen with the Red Coral Color Top for the largest flower and buds
  • using Bubble Gum (PK3) pen with the Peony Pink Color Top for the bottom right flower
  • Baby Blue (BL2) & Cornflower Blue Pens with the Lavender (BV2) Color Top for the small flowers.
  • A stitched outline was then added using the Chameleon Detail Pen.

The Altenew Thanks die was then used to cut out the sentiment from the colored design, green and purple fine liner pens were then used to enhance the stems and small flowers.

Oh I love them! And I don’t just mean the cards. I own both your markers and your pencils and I do love both of them. Thank you for the video on how you used the pencils – it really helped me see how easy it really is. I think I try too hard with the pencils when I don’t have to.

  2. Kathy McCluskey

Both of your cards are just stunning! I really love how you used 2 different colors (that pink and dark blue look so good together!) on the “hello”! The flowers are colored so beautifully on both cards! I’m looking forward to watching the video to see how you made each card!!

These are quite the clever pens, a different shade at each end. I am in the market for coloring pens so perhaps I should try these!

    1. Cathy Andronicou Post author

Yes definitely try these, the pens allow you to go from a light to dark tone and the Color Tops allow you to change to a different Color alltogether!
